The Experience
While our dough undergoes its first rise, we will take a private tour of the brand-new Mothership campus to see the trauma-informed care and housing programs in action.
Join us for a morning of bread baking and a closer look at Urban Peak.

We got hands-on baking bread (and yes, I kneaded that in my life), learning techniques that made me feel like I could really rise to the occasion in my own kitchen. Our baker, Sean, was absolutely the upper crust: patient, encouraging, and full of wisdom. He truly helped us see that even when life gets tough, we can still rise up (just like a good dough!) and accomplish something amazing.
On top of that, the tour of Urban Peak's 'mothership' was incredibly impactful. Learning about the powerful work they're doing for unhoused youth and young adults in Denver really added depth to the experience—it wasn't just about bread, it was about building a stronger community too.
All in all, this event was the perfect blend of learning, purpose, and inspiration. I came for the bread but stayed for the heart. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to bake a difference, support a great cause, and have a yeast-ful experience doing it.

I'm Sean, a Denver neighbor and Urban Peak Ambassador. I lead a monthly bread-baking class with Urban Peak youth at the Mothership. This RiseUP fundraising experience is one more way to share the magic of baking bread.
